Underwater hotel

This Hotel be supose to open this year in Istanbul, Turkey. The rumor is it's called "Poseidon" and it will be a 7 stars hotel. Developed by Tarnriverdi for a budget of $ 500 million.
The room will be 550 square feet (51m2). It sounds like the first of these Poseidon Resorts is due to open in Fiji $15,000 per person for 6 nights, becarefull for 4 nights on a beachfront room and 2 night in the underwater room.

Personnaly I wonder:

- Is the security and accecibility law is the same under the sea? Who can advice and control? To my opinion stairs sould be an obligation.
- Will people will be reimburse if they realise that they couldn't spleed with dolphins looking at them? Are dolphins paid to watch people?
- If you can close shutters? (hihi ;)) No in fact what is the luminance in the underwater, a fullmoon night for example?
- If you can see your neighbourg? thanks to the picture you can.
- What about the claustrophobia?
- What is the real satisfaction to be on a "incredible" place if you just... sleep?
- Ok it's a fantastique project... but they can have a interior designer, they have to.

  1. Fafone,
I just read your article and i agree with you it is an incredible project. It is very innovative and special.
I am pretty sure people will go just for discovering and talk about what they saw in this.

After, i would talk about your interrogations.
You look very sarcastic... ;);) or it is me??
Maybe they can rent Titanic during their night..no??
    Or maybe Jaws???

I liked your article, because i didn't know a hotel should open undersea.

  2. I'm really interesting in that article. This project well illustrates the fact that many hotelers and investissors have understood the necessity to differenciate themselves from the rest of the hospitality industry. Effectively, the competition on the hospitality industry became very hard and many hotels haven't foud the solution to keep their clientele.
With a powerful project like that one they will possess a important competitive advantage. The question is, are people will go to this kind of hotels more than one time or it's just destinated to be an unique experience?

  3. My biggest interrogation would be to know how well this luxury clientele that is here targeted can be served? Since this place is cut from the rest of the world, would the staff be able to answer to all the customers' demands?

Moreover, this luxury clientele also likes to stay alone but I guess they won't be able to be alone in that kind of hotel, it would be too much dangerous. What about that?

Anyway, I looove this concept! And I love the fact that some hoteliers try to be creative an dtake risks.
